Did you know Marriage Equality USA (“MEUSA”) is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots organization working for civil marriage equality? Since 1996, MEUSA pioneered public marriage equality workshops (1999), marriage counter actions (2000) and the first marriage equality rally in Washington D.C. (2004).
That work continues today as MEUSA brings the real stories of people affected by this discrimination to judges across the country deciding this issue. Over 115 million people still live in states where LGBTQ Americans still cannot marry the person they love. They cannot protect each other in sickness or in health. Their kids continue to be told their families are “less than” others. MEUSA works in communities like Georgia and North Carolina to build understanding and respect for LGBTQ couples.
History in the Making features a screening, panel discussion and reception. Guests include Christine Quinn and Cathy Marino-Thomas.
